The ICA's 2024 Global Cooperative Conference in New Delhi, India, marked an important moment as over 3,000 cooperators came together to launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, demonstrating the power of cooperatives in tackling global challenges such as inequality, climate and conflict.
There were more than 100 inspirational speakers and provocative panel debates, and delegates co-created cooperative visions and strategies during multiple break-out sessions. The conference theme, Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All, celebrated cooperatives as people-centred, purpose-led and progress-driven enterprises.
The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, The program also had the special presence of Hon’ble Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah.
The 2024 ICA Global Conference hit Indian soil for the first time in its 130 years.

UN Secretary General António Guterres spoke of the crucial role of cooperatives in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in light of the upcoming Second World Summit on Social Development. He stressed the need to work together to tackle complex global challenges.
The Global Conference was hosted by the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO) and the 18 ICA member organisations in India.
